After completing all our scheduled appointments in Austria (sounds way too much like work – but in between we really enjoyed the mountains), our next destination is the Netherlands. Looking at the map, this means we get to cross all of Germany.

Our trip through Austria had several stages – from the Bergdoktor in Ellmau, along the Hochalpenstraße to the Großglockner, and finally to Krug in Schladming at the Dachstein.

Almost at the top – the summit has finally come out of the clouds.

For about two weeks now, we’ve done it – we’re now traveling full-time and living wherever we want to be.

After many years of dreaming, planning, comparing, and finally a lot of paperwork, we finally brought our future mobile home home this weekend.

We faced a tough decision: now that our expedition vehicle has been chosen (more on that very soon here!), a problem emerged: our Mammothon already has a large lift for motorcycles (which is great – because those are seriously expensive!) – but weight-wise, our two motorcycles plus the spare tire just won’t fit.

And after long, agonizing deliberations, we’ve now sold Kazuko and downsized significantly (especially in terms of weight).

In record time, Saskia has now also rocked her Class C (truck) driver’s license! This means that we can both drive the big rigs now.

And for those who have been following our timeline, it won’t come as a surprise that the final big steps are now slowly approaching. A few days ago, our house was put up for sale, and at the same time, we have scheduled our first live viewings of potential trucks – things are getting real!

Now that we’ve passed our motorcycle license, we were able to take our time and choose a second motorcycle without any constraints like “must be big enough for Class A” and also take it for a test ride.

Several models made it to the shortlist, but we ultimately chose our 🐦‍⬛ Raven, a Husqvarna 401 Svartpilen 2024. Compared to our CFMoto 700CL-X Adventure, everything is a size smaller – making it lighter, more agile, and more economical.
