Monastery de la Murta ๐ช๐ธ - Right at the End of the Valley
Sven Walther
A valley that keeps narrowing
We want a bit more solitude again, so today we head for the Monastery de la Murta.
The drive from Valencia is not long in itself - but the last few kilometres get narrower and narrower. Not many trucks come up here, presumably.

The final kilometres get tight
On arrival we are rewarded with an almost empty car park at the end of the valley. From here you can only continue on foot.

Almost alone at the end of the valley
In the evening we do a short loop before it gets pitch dark out here. And this far out, dark really does mean dark.

An evening loop around the monastery
The circular route
The next day it is back to work for me, and Saskia has picked out a circular route to tackle.
Hours later a WhatsApp message arrives: the way up was steep and complicated, and the way back is going to be very tight. This is one of those moments where you sit at your desk, look at your phone, and decide the meeting can probably be a little shorter after all.

The valley looks even better from above
It all works out in the end - and the pictures from up there were clearly worth the effort.
