Atlantic Coast 🇲🇦 - Separate Ways, Beach and the Medina
Sven Walther
Separate ways
Today our group goes separate ways. Some take the fastest route to Tanger Med for the ferry, others continue their journey further south through Morocco. And us? We take an entirely different course - west, to the coast.
That means first of all: straight across Marrakesh. This time genuinely off the tourist routes, and thanks to roadworks, criss-cross through the city as well.

Arriving at the coast
In the end we reach a small campsite right on the beach near Aquermoud. Here it is time to breathe out and recover: a good restaurant, good showers, and the sea almost entirely to ourselves.

Evenings by the sea
Inland
After a few restful days on the beach we want a bit more green and a bit less sound of surf. So we drive a few kilometres inland - Saskia on the motorbike, me in Mammothon.

A bit more green
Our new pitch is completely different again: surrounded by trees, gravelled bays, a touch larger - and even with a mini golf course.

A pitch with mini golf
Here we finally get round to recording the room tour, which is now online on YouTube.
And from here we also set off on a short trip with the motorbikes to Essaouira. This time we take a little more time over it.

Out on the motorbikes
Into the medina after all
We head back to Marrakesh - once more right across the city and, thanks to roadworks, through streets rather less intended for large trucks.

Once more across the city
Again we try to park near the medina. Again there is a big event on and the car parks are unavailable. So, straight to the campsite.
There we organise a taxi that has no problem with dogs. We had been told this was impossible - it turned out to be no trouble at all. And so we get to walk the medina properly after all.

In the medina
And there is plenty going on: people bustling through every street, shops and cafés everywhere, and an atmosphere you do not forget in a hurry.
