Back to Europe 🇲🇦 - A Run of Bad Luck
Sven Walther
Heading north
Now we head back towards Europe: once more across Marrakesh, then past Casablanca and Rabat, and finally on to Tanger Med.

One more run across the country
It is not only sad to be leaving this fantastic country again - a small run of bad luck also begins here.
Part one is the entrance to the campsite we stop at along the way. We are cheerfully waved in - until something crunches and their nice gate now has a hole in it. A hundred percent their mistake, but unpleasant all the same.

A stop along the way
Part two we notice at the campsite: the batteries are not fully charged. Odd - and the start of a fault-finding exercise that will keep us busy for a while.

Tanger Med
Thirty hours late
After a night at the port and a long wait at the ticket desk, we get our ferry - roughly 30 hours behind schedule.

Waiting is part of it
But it gets more interesting. On the ramp up to the ferry, Mammothon’s electronics decide that is quite enough. Why? The angle? The throttle? Magic? The gearbox shifts to N and stays there.
Not a pleasant feeling - particularly not with marshals watching and a queue of vehicles behind you.

Here of all places
In the end it turns out to be nothing but a computer. Everything off, key out, key in - and just like that, the gears are back.

Back in Europe
Thanks to the delay we reach AlmerÃa considerably later than planned. But we are back in Europe - and the rest can be sorted out.
